Review

Charming, and occasionally, disturbing YA novel about a teenage boy who literally cannot be seen — not even his late mother ever saw him — and the girl who moves into his New York apartment building who, inexplicably, can see him. Explanations are sought, and eventually found, though by then they’re up to “Maybe I don’t want to know” status: apparently the lad’s status can be reversed, but at a terrible price. If the criterion for a good supernatural novel is that ordinary, unsuper folks can relate to the characters, then this is a very good supernatural novel indeed.
