Richard the 150th

The first three Richards were kings of England; Richard IV was a fictional character in two British television series (The Palace and Blackadder). I have no idea who this guy is:

In CNN’s defense, there was no plane crash involved.

I do know someone who proudly remarked, “I went to school in the 1980s, so I didn’t have to learn Roman Numerals” (implying there was no use for them). I don’t know. I have little tolerance for what I see as willful ignorance.

Amen, fillyjonk. There is a difference between stupidity and ignorance, in that ignorance can be alleviated by learning. But willful ignorance is stupidity.

Didn’t “have” to learn Roman numerals? HowTF did they know which Super Bowl it was?
