No longer the hot topic

Tatyana has decided that she’s had it up to here with political discussions:

Only 6 months ago I was totally in the game, reading at least 10 political blogs and getting into online (and sometimes off-) debates on the hot topics.

But that was then. Now:

Maybe it is exactly my — at some time — close familiarity with people supposedly on the same side of political divide that disillusioned me, but my general attitude now run something like “plague on both your houses”.

It occurs to me that if the alleged leaders of those houses thought they could retain their power and perks, they’d gladly, even gleefully, welcome that plague.

I totally lost interest in most all politics after the last presidential election. It didn’t take long for far too many bloggers to demonstrate that they were only ready to apply rationality to their own side of the aisle.

I found it so tiresome so I walked away. I read very very little on politics now and I stopped visiting blogs where politics was the main source of content. I follow about 2 or 3 people on twitter who post mainly political tweets (and one of them I follow because she is a good friend and a lovely person otherwise the pol tweeting would have driven me off long ago).

Wow me too. And when I stopped, it was like a dead limb came back to life, or something.
