Crazy, stupid, fonts

For some reason, this strikes me as hilarious:

Ryan Gosling gives advice on kerning

A whole lot more of these at Typographer Ryan Gosling, which, tweets Reuters’ Felix Salmon, is “possibly the greatest website in the history of the internet.”

I don’t care much for typographers. 99% of all the fonts I see look so much like Times-Roman I don’t know why they even bothered. They have also given us this whole thing of bitching about Comic Sans like anyone would care. And then there are the fonts where you can’t tell an oh from a zero or an el from a one. And where’s our sarcasm font? Something we really need and they haven’t delivered. They spend all their time quibbling about whether the serif on the Z is big enough or not. And writing bad poetry. A pox on the lot of them.

I think Comic Sans should work just fine as a sarcasm font.

So, the not-quite-beard is back in style? I thought we’d seen the last of it when Miami Vice went off the air.
