Saint James’ place

Tomorrow, Susan Saint James becomes (theoretically) eligible for Social Security. In recognition of her 65th birthday, here she is in a still from the Seventies TV series McMillan and Wife:

And here she is, being honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2008:

She is officially retired, but I have the feeling we haven’t seen the last of her.

The voice of adolescent male fantasies.

Well, if you were an adolescent male in the late ’60s.

She’s aged really well. And by “aged really well” I mean, her plastic surgeon does good work.

judged by these two photos alone I’d say she now looks much better than in her youth

I remain amazed that Rock Hudson worked with her all those years and didn’t switch teams back.

One of my favorite shows when I was a kid. Sigh. Also? We had that couch in our living room. The same plaid pattern and everything. Only the tv couch material looks like it’s chenille or something (remember chenille?), and ours was this horrible “indestructible” acrylic woven stuff that felt like it was spun from pure plastic. Whenever one of the burning ashes from my parents’ cigarettes landed on it, it wouldn’t leave a burnt spot, it would leave a melted spot.
