Conceal of approval

We’ve all seen models in almost exactly this pose; it’s popular, I suspect, because it’s a simple matter to create the illusion that said model is wearing nothing but a facial expression. (Think Jennifer Aniston in this bottled-water ad, only more so.)

So I had to snag this shot, in which it’s perfectly obvious that the model is (somewhat) dressed, nicely subverting that particular photographic convention.

    Actually, I’ve always thought of the pose as a cheat. The model can be buck naked and not show ANYthing. ::grrrr::

    Mark, use your imagination!

    [when my son was little he would get very irritated when read fairy tales. “But this can’s happen! Cats don’t talk! And chickens don’t lay golden eggs!” It took about 3 years for him to get a concept of “make-believe”. He’s a typical engineer…no imagination]
