All together now: “But it’s a dry heat”

Yesterday in the Arizona Republic:

While an excessive heat warning is in effect through Monday, temperatures are expected to plunge into the mid-90s by the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

You probably don’t want to know what they consider “excessive.”

I’ll take dry heat. As long as it’s dry. And isn’t humid. And if it makes my hair crackle with miniature lightning whenever I run my hand through it, even better.

I mean sure, a dry cool is even better, but if it can’t be cool, I’ll take dry.

    When they call “mid-90s” a cool-down, it’s never good.

I tend to be of the opinion that any temperature of over 85 should simply be labeled “too damn hot” and left at that.
