Gravel for Sisyphus
According to the old schoolyard (remember the days of the old schoolyard?) joke, the only thing harder than Wheeling, West Virginia was Flushing, New York.
But back then, we'd never tried canceling EarthLink. Posted at 4:11 PM to Dyssynergy
As shameful as it is I must confess to having worked at the OKC AOHELL office once upon a time ... and canceling Earthlink sounds EXACTLY like their system works. It got so smarmy and deceitful I left under my own steam ... and took my worthless stock (by that time) with me.
A lot has changed in five years. I had no trouble at all cancelling EarthLink when we got broadband through our cable TV service.
Of course, I think if they had told me I needed to call a certain number to cancel, I would've called that number. Sometimes it's less of a hassle to just jump through the damned hoop.
FWIW, I did try cancelling with the number once or twice. I gave up after 10-15 minutes of phone tree. I just didn't have the time on those days, and haven't been motivated to try again.
What about Lansing, Michigan?
