Cringing in Connecticut

Rep. Christopher Shays (R-CT) says he wouldn't go to Times Square tonight "for anything".

Says Shays, "I wouldn't go into places when you're packed and where if there was panic, a lot of injuries would take place."

Mayor Michael Bloomberg, pointing out that former POW Shoshana Johnson would be part of the New Year's celebration, suggested that Shays give her a call and "learn a little bit about courage."

As bombast and bluster goes, this is all very well and good, but what I want to know is this: does Shays smoke? If so, he's probably not going to want to go to New York under any circumstances.

The guys's a Christian Scientist. I don't think he has to worry about the $8.00 bucks/pack even if he does venture out for the two-hour drive to NYC.

What a moron. But what do you expect from the state that gave us Chris Dodd and Joe Lieberman.

On the other hand, to be perfectly frank, I wouldn't want to set foot in Manhattan, either and Islamic terrorism has nothing to do with it.

Shays is also cozying up to our crooked Governor. People are driving up here from New Jersey just to call us corrupt.

Now that's bad, when NJ calls you corrupt. :)

They get around to dumping Rowland yet?

No, but both parties are talking about "impeachment options."

We live in such a model state:

- Bridgeport Mayor Gannon: Guilty of taking kickbacks for state contracts.

- Waterbury Mayor Giordano: Receiving blowjobs from 8 and 8 year old girls.

Waterbury Mayor Santopietro: Guilty on 18 of 21 counts of receiving or soliciting money in exchange for approving development projects in Waterbury.

- Governor Rowland: Kickbacks for state contracts (admission)

(um, yeah, the Giordano thing is true).

Kind of makes you wonder about Waterbury, doesn't it?

(And come to think of it, on my one and only trip to Connecticut, I stayed in...hmmm.)
